What is Storybook?
Storybook is a series of magically themed portrait sessions for children (and adults in some themes!) that is offered throughout the year on a seasonal basis. Most importantly, it is a photographic partnership with Fox 4's Love Fund for Children here in Kansas City.
With your small donation of $50 per child for most sessions, your children can be photographed in a magical Storybook portrait session and your donation is forwarded to Love Fund which has a BIG impact for local children.

January & February:
A wintery wonderland fit for a fairy or elf!
Fun poofy dresses, crowns of icicles and fun adventures for your fairy or elf to discover! Encompassing all the fun things about winter and snow that your children love!
March:
Springtime Portraits with Ducklings!
Real live ducklings join us at the studio for an opportunity to meet your children for some fun springtime portraits that your children will still be talking about over summer!
April & May:
Spring Fairy & Elf portraits in a wisteria garden!
Draped in soft lavender wisteria, this scene is filled with all the wonderful elements of spring you love. Enjoy, as your child delights in the treasures of spring.
Summer:
An invitation to a magical school...
A perfect way to get younger and older kids excited about portraits. Especially when it includes magical experiments, troll bogeys and slime. Even parents can join in the fun as professors! This is something you've never been able to experience with your kids before!
Summer:
Summer Fairy & Elf portraits in a woodland glen!
Lush and green with summertime friends and visitors for your child to delight in. This one is a classic for a reason!
September & October:
Harvest the fun with fairies & elves!
Do you love the rich tones of autumn and the swirling falling leaves? If so, this is the perfect scene for tossing leaves in the air, discovering giant pumpkins and helping squirrels find nuts to prepare for winter.
October & November: Santa & Mrs. Claus
Miracle on 34th Street meets Norman Rockwell for this portrait session! There's never a more magical time in a child's life when they believe with their whole heart in the magic of Santa. Enjoy your child's gasps of delight and the excitement shining in their eyes when they meet Santa and Mrs. Claus for the most magical experience all year.
FAQ's
No, you do not have to go out and buy an outfit for most of our Storybook scenes. We curate a very specific look for each of our scenes and stock a wide range of outfits to create color harmony within the portraits. When scheduling, we will discuss wardrobe and sizing.
The official answer...it depends! Some of the scenes are not appropriate for babies unless they have someone with them. We definitely prefer them to be able to sit up on their own with a strong ability to balance.
We love coming from a place of giving first (in fact, most of our studio is structured this way). We have partnered with Fox 4's Love Fund for our Storybook sessions and most of the themes are available to you for a $50 donation per child to the Love Fund.
Yes, please have your child's hair styled and ready to be polished as we ready them for the scene. Once we have them in an outfit, we will finish off their look with a choice of fairy flower crowns or hat and we will adjust their hairstyle as needed to look amazing!
Great! We have so much fun with boys in our magical forest scenes and have woodland elf outfits waiting for him!
Not a problem! With the time we allow per Santa Experience and the way we have set up the interaction, children rarely get the chance to be scared. Call us if you'd like to chat!
Make way for the ducklings!! Yes, baby ducks come and visit the studio in spring for the cutest springtime portraits you've seen! These adorable, fluffy, web-footed chirping babies are quite the hit with kids and parents! Just like all our Storybook portraits, we only offer these sessions for a short window but it's more because these babies grow up FAST! One weekend is all there is each year!
Probably just like you, we grew up with these stories and we find a lot of parents just adore the scene! That's why we've added professor robes to our wardrobe specifically so you can join in the fun! And yes, sometimes it's just adults who take advantage of this scene, that's okay too!
